Sausages

All our sausages are made on site at Lower Gungate with the finest ingredients and shoulder pork, they are also made with natural casings.

We pride ourselves in making the traditional pork sausage and sausage meat to George Claridge’s 1922 recipe.

We currently make five varieties of sausage:

  • Traditional 1922 Pork recipe
  • Pork and Tomato 1922 recipe
  • Country Pork with herb flavour
  • Old English with mild seasonal flavours

Chipolata sausages made with the traditional sausage meat are produced for the Christmas trade but we are also happy to take orders for these at other times of the year.

There are normally twelve sausages to the 1lb (500grm) but this will depend on their individual size as they are home made on the premises.

Faggots

We still make our own faggots to the 1922 George Claridge recipe and these can be purchased in packs of either two or four.

Sausage Rolls

We make and cook our own sausage rolls everyday on the premises; these are made with our traditional pork sausage meat. Cocktail sausage rolls are made to order and are always produced ready for the Christmas trade.

Polony

This is made on the premises with the finest cooked meats and again uses a natural skin for the casing.

Roast Pork

This is cooked on the premises daily from our own legs of pork and stuffed with our own sage and onion seasoning.

Bacon

All bacon sold is loosed and sliced on the premises. We slice our bacon on a thick cut but it can be sliced thinly if required. On request we can vacuum pack bacon to meet your requirements.

Gammon Joints and Danish Bacon Joints are vacuum packed and come in a variety of sizes.
